reSPF ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the reSPF iOS application and any related services (collectively, the "App"). Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the App.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information to provide and improve the App:

Location Data

We collect your precise GPS location to determine real-time UV index data for your exact position. Location is accessed only while the App is in use (foreground) unless you grant always-on permission for background UV monitoring. You may revoke location permission at any time in your device Settings.

Skin Profile Information

We collect your Fitzpatrick skin type and any sunscreen information you provide (SPF level, product type). This information is used solely to personalize your UV protection reminders and is stored locally on your device.

Camera Data

When you use the Label Scanning feature, we access your device camera to capture sunscreen product labels. Our on-device AI model analyzes the ingredient list to determine whether the product is safe and effective for your skin profile. Images are not uploaded to our servers and are not stored beyond the scanning session.

Usage Data

We may collect anonymized, aggregated usage data (e.g., feature interaction, session frequency) to improve the App experience. This data cannot be used to identify you.

Device Information

We may collect device model, operating system version, and app version for diagnostic and crash-reporting purposes only.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide real-time UV tracking and personalized SPF reapplication reminders
  • Tailor protection recommendations to your Fitzpatrick skin type
  • Analyze sunscreen ingredients via camera to assess product safety for your skin
  • Sync your skin profile and reminders across your devices via CloudKit
  • Send Apple Watch notifications when reapplication is due
  • Diagnose technical issues and improve app stability
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

We do not use your information for advertising, sell your data to third parties, or use your location for any purpose other than UV index retrieval.

3. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with the following third-party services. Each is subject to its own privacy policy:

Apple WeatherKit

We use Apple WeatherKit to retrieve UV index data for your location. Your coordinates are transmitted to Apple's servers for this purpose. Apple's data handling is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Apple Watch / CloudKit

Reapplication reminders and your skin profile are synced across your devices using Apple CloudKit. Data stored in CloudKit is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to your CloudKit data — it is private to your iCloud account.

4. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may disclose information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Legal compliance: If required by law, court order, or governmental authority
  • Safety: To protect the rights, property, or safety of reSPF, our users, or the public
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy

5. Data Storage & Retention

Most personal data (skin profile, SPF history) is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers. Anonymized usage diagnostics are retained for up to 90 days. If you delete the App, all locally stored data is removed from your device. Any server-side diagnostic data is deleted within 90 days of collection.

6. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access & portability: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Correction: Update inaccurate personal data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data
  • Withdraw consent: Revoke location or camera permissions at any time via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security
  • Opt out of diagnostics: Disable anonymous usage analytics in the App settings

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete such information.

8. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data. Sensitive information stored on-device is protected by iOS device encryption. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International Data Transfers

reSPF is operated from Indonesia. If you are located outside Indonesia, please be aware that information processed through Apple WeatherKit may be transferred to and processed in other countries. By using the App, you consent to this transfer. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, through an in-app notification. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
